Welcome to our website here is a little about us at Wilde Plum Heritage Boer Goats.

Wilde Plum Farm Heritage Boer Goats ( AKA: Wilde Plum Farm of Georgia) wants to welcome you to our little touch of heaven in our little Boer Goat World where we have quality Boer Goats for Sale and the highest quality of Non Traditional Boer Goats for Sale. We see these animals as the future of the meat situation in the United States of Americus. We are breeding animal that range from stock animals to show animals and all in between. This dream of a farm was created in my father's eyes in the early 1992 when the he purchased an overgrown field that was once used by a dairy farmer who was long gone. Our family had different ideas of what to do with this land and the building and remains that were found on the property. Since 2000 it has been used as a mini farm but not to its greatest potential. It was not until mid 2000 that animal raising was brought to the farm. Then we decided, under the reluctance of some of the family, to start raising goats for competition in shows and as a meat producing animal. We produce traditional and nontraditional Boer Goats in the South African as well as the New Zealand style. We started on our learning and handling of Boer goats around 2008. We concentrated in offering show quality High Percentage Boer Goats, Full-blood Boer Goats, Colored Boer Goats, Spotted Boer Goats and Show Wethers for purchase. We started out raising goats for Show Wethers as 4-H & FFA projects so our kids could stay competitive and learn the responsibility of taking care of animals. Then it quickly changed from showmanship to open classes. We are able to really see the influences of hand picking breeding partners and observing the outcomes. The kids have a daily chore to keep their goat clean and to make sure the animals are up to par for competitions. Every event is a learning experience and we have gotten better. We have also learned the importance of caring for animals and dealing with them everyday. They learned how to be a steward to them. We have focused on finding the overall "perfect Boer goat". As you know there really is no true definition of this animal. At Wilde Plum Farm we have come to like the difference in the look of the reds and paints and started our breeding program to produce show quality animals in south eastern United State, hopefully. Reds, paints, and spotted usually do not do well in the show ring in our area, but that is part of the challenge. We approached our breeding program differently than most, because we are trying to produce Boer goat does that we like and could serve in many different areas instead of by the pedigree only. Our reds, paints, and spotted will compete along side traditional colored goats in and out of the show ring. We breed all of our goats for conformation first, and color second. Our mission at Wilde Plum Farm is to breed, raise and sell the highest quality AKC English Springer Spaniels and full-blood Boer Goats from our ABGA SA registered Boer Goat stock that can be used for breeding and show-stock while maintaining our family owned and operated mini farm in southwest Georgia (northeastern Sumter County). Our Traditional and Non-Traditional Boer goats will be of the highest quality and standard that can be raised and developed at Wilde Plum Farm while pursuing the idea of breeding that "perfect show Boer goat". We are dedicated in being honest, ethical, helpful, and reverent in all that we do and touch. We have added to our FFA and 4-H breeding program PIGS. Yes, pigs that have been shipped from Iowa. We brought them to Georgia and will be breeding them here. That means they are truely Georgia Raised and Georgia bred pigs and can go into competitions that have to be State raised and State bre. We hope that this will bring more opportunites to kids to show animals and get the full experience and reward. We hold our standards to have the utmost importance in dealing with all people and animals alike that we come in touch with throughout our endeavor. We enjoy the challenges of the everyday raising and interacting with the animals. We are always learning things out here and will post the bad and the good. Hope to hear from others that will and have the same ideas and experiences.
